Frequently asked questions

Scope, support, and practical boundaries

These answers are intentionally plain-spoken so prospects know what to expect before a proposal is written.

What do you build?

Renaissance Works builds professional websites, provides hosting and maintenance, sets up ecommerce-ready website structure, creates artist and band websites with EPK-style layouts, and can add optional AI chat or automation tools.

Do you offer hosting?

Yes. Hosting and maintenance can be provided as an ongoing monthly service.

What is an EPK?

An EPK is an electronic press kit: a clean website section or page that gives venues, promoters, media contacts, and collaborators quick access to artist bio, photos, music, video, booking details, press assets, and release information.

Do you host music or video files directly?

Usually media is embedded or linked from platforms like YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Apple Music, or similar services. The standard artist packages do not imply unlimited self-hosted audio or video storage.

What does an artist or band need to provide?

Usually the client provides final bio text, press photos, social links, booking email, release details, streaming links, video links, tracklist information, show dates, and any downloadable press or booking information they want included.

How does the optional AI fan or booking assistant work?

The optional chatbot add-on can answer questions about the artist, releases, shows, booking details, merch links, social links, and EPK information. It is optional and meant to guide visitors, not replace personal management.

What do you not handle?

Renaissance Works builds and supports the digital systems around your business, but does not run the business itself, provide legal or tax advice, source products, or control payment processor approvals.

Can you guarantee payment processor approval?

No. We can help prepare the website and connect approved checkout tools, but approval decisions are made by the payment processor.

What counts as a monthly update?

Typical monthly updates include small text edits, price changes, image swaps, contact detail updates, and minor page adjustments.

Can you help me choose the right setup?

Yes. The goal is to recommend a practical website, hosting, ecommerce, artist/EPK, or AI setup based on your business and budget.

Do you provide legal, tax, or accounting advice?

No. Renaissance Works handles the digital presentation and tooling around a business, not legal, tax, accounting, or compliance decisions.

Can you source products or negotiate with suppliers?

No. Product sourcing, supplier verification, wholesale negotiation, and fulfillment operations stay with the client or the appropriate specialist.

Still deciding?

If the question affects scope, it is worth clarifying early

That keeps the quote cleaner, the timeline more realistic, and the resulting website aligned with the actual business.
